And there was much sinister laughter. Somebody got… lucky?
Some days, I just feel like Indiana Jones. Once again, I have escaped an Infernalist plot by owing a large Boon to a child of Set. Who says that turning into a giant snake never helps? Time will show which was the wisest course, I’m sure. It will take days for the smell of sulphur to get out of my hair. Rafael turned into a magical Rimmer, Preston turned into a Boojum’s prey, Lisa turned into a cannibal and my other coterie mates just got really, really hungry. I suppose on the upside, there’s less of a problem with using this place as a safe house now…
Great…surrounded by flames, standing before an imposing double doors with strange writings on it that Amy says has something to do with a Giovanni. At least whatever is smelling so good is keeping me distracted from being completely out of it. Despite all that, Amy says the door isnt enchanted. Considering all the wierd scrawls, that’s somewhat of a disappointment.
We spent a little while trying to figure out if the flames were imaginary (the heat certainly felt realy) or not until Moonflower lost her patience and pretty much growled for us to get on with it. And Preston vanished. Amy was looking at where Preston had been, then she too vanished! Only to reappear, falling backwards through the flames, badly burnt. As Marcus continued to try to open the doorway, I went to Amy and offered what help I could. I was getting dangerously weak, but Amy was one of the few who could identify magics and had a few tricks of her own. And I owed her. I used the Eyes power to ease her pain somewhat, but that has pretty much done me for the night. I cant do any more. So thirsty. So very very thirsty.
Amy kissed the Eye. wha?
The sound of metal being bent lets me know Marcus has done it. I helped Moonflower through, but Rafael appears to have frozen…literally. He wont move and we cant get him to move. Since we cant move him, we’ll have to hope he’ll be ok out here.
Crawling through leads to a dark mausoleum. Reminds me how i have lost my torch and need to be near Moonflower to see.
Sarcophagi..sarcophagus’s…i forget what the right term is. But there was one there…Egyptian…maybe Roman in style…along with several boxes that look like poor mans sarcophagus’s. Before i realised what I was doing, I was leaning over the container, the smell…its coming from within. I asked Moonflower for help opening it, but somehow manage to push the lid off. A mummy, or mummy-like body is inside. They are beautiful, so…amazing, like a birthday present. But like a present, they must be unraveled properly, without any ripping. Very soon, a withered husk is revealed, vampiric but not active. All I can see are those lips…that neck…
Ecstasy, such sweet ecstasy. I cant remember how it started, but there was sweet, sweet nectar of the gods. It was slow at first, but then became easier to take. After a while, it goes…and I found myself leaning over the corpse, my fangs in it, having drained it dry. I lick my lips, covered in sweet blood. Oh god. I’ve just drained a vampire dry. No…not just that..somehow I know…I’ve drained him completely. As the corpse disintegrates, it hits me. Drained completely of everything.
